Paragon's President Hugh Dodson is a veteran senior
executive in media, entertainment and sports and a former NFLPA-certified agent.
He was previously the COO/CFO of The Gersh Agency (Gersh) for eight years and
chief architect of Gersh Sports, where he guided that iconic talent agency's
successful entry into sports management. As the only non-family member on
GERSH's board of directors, Hugh was in charge of virtually all operational
aspects of the agency and spearheaded their new business development and corporate
Hugh's senior experience in the media and entertainment
industry spans the past 22 years. He has an extensive background in finance and
operations from his work as a senior financial analyst in the filmed
entertainment divisions of Walt Disney Studios and MGM/UA. His strategic
business expertise covers turnaround and management of established and
start-up businesses in accelerated growth cycles as well as in-depth
experience in marketing, advertising and promotion. He has also managed companies
in the commercial production and post production field as related to feature films,
broadcasting and cable.
Moreover, from his days at Gersh to Paragon's launch in March 2008 and
through today, Dodson has guided actors careers resulting in roles in studio and
independent feature films ("The Social Network" "Lincoln Lawyer" "The Gundown"
as well as network and cable television shows ("The Unit" "Criminal Minds"
"CSI" "Entourage") and numerous commercials. As for athlete clients he has guided
players from the playing field to the broadcast booth and appearances in film and
television as well as numerous commercials. During his 12 years in the representation
business, Dodson has handled and directed client negotiations totaling more than $200
million in talent and athlete deals. He sees Andrea Curtis' arrival as a milestone
event for development of a larger more robust talent management business.
A graduate of Arizona State University, Hugh is a volunteer
youth sports coach, coaching athletes 13 and under in two sports. He lives in
Calabasas, California and enjoys a round of golf as often as possible.
